Kerry Mecusker, LMSW

In every session, I try to create space where clients are better able to understand and accept themselves and leave feeling a little stronger and free. I work to establish a trusting relationship where we explore the topics determined by the client. I use active listening combined with knowledge of evidence-based practices to help individuals find their path, build confidence and a life that they love.

I specialize in issues including relationships, parenting support, grief and loss, trauma, interpersonal violence, life transitions/stress, and spiritual topics . Depending on best fit, I apply systems theory, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, research on neurobiology and developmental frameworks. I am trained in TBRI and have worked in the field of child welfare, stabilizing placements of children in foster homes and providing parenting support for 7 years. I am currently accepting new clients, including children and adolescents, with evening and weekend availability. In my spare time, I read on the porch with my cat, exercise, host dinners, and visit friends in California. I love to walk on the beach, listen to the waves, and relax.

May you always find people who pay attention to how you feel. I hope to meet with you soon.
