KRISTINA SARKISOVA, LmSW

Espanol

Hi there! My name is Kristina (she/her/ella), and I’m a multicultural, bilingual (Spanish/English) therapist and social worker licensed in Texas. My practice is Neurodiversity and LGBTQ+ affirming and rooted in anti-oppressive ideologies including Anti-Racism, Intersectional Feminism, Fat Liberation and Disability Justice.

As a therapist I am warm, collaborative, and playful. Clients have expressed feeling safe with me, and experiencing me as knowledgeable and insightful. My approach is non-pathologizing, trauma-sensitive, and grounded in attachment, neurobiology, and the integration of mind and body. I consider it a privilege to be entrusted to hold your story and experience.

I enjoy working with adults across the lifespan on a variety of topics including anxiety, depression, grief, loss (death and non-death losses), identity, life transitions, and relationships. I’m especially passionate about working through an anti-ableist and non-medical-model lens with people living with chronic illness and/or chronic pain, areas I have specialized knowledge and lived experience in. I offer the option of using Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT): a modality that combines somatic, cognitive, and exposure therapy elements to rewire pain pathways in the brain and help you find/rediscover safety in your body. It can be transformative work, and I look forward to walking alongside you should you choose to undertake it! Other modalities I use and combine include Somatic Psychotherapy, Narrative, Psychodynamic, RCT, ACT, and CBT. When working with me, you can expect an eclectic approach based on non-judgment and deep compassion.

 -       I’m accepting new adult clients for virtual sessions across Texas.

-       I’m unable to accept insurance, but I do offer:

I warmly invite you to get in touch with any questions, or to schedule with me: kristina@centralaustinpsychotherapy.com.
