Mary Eberlein, LmSW
Welcome to therapy! Taking this step can feel daunting, so a big congratulations to you for embarking on this journey! You’re embarking on a powerful process of self-exploration and healing, designed to bring about the meaningful changes you desire. I’m excited to be a part of your work.
Are you feeling stuck, burdened by depression, or realizing that your life isn’t aligned with your values? Whether you have a clear understanding of what’s holding you back or are wrestling with complex emotions, I’m here to support you. If you’ve experienced a loss or are facing one, let’s navigate grief together and find a way forward in this new, unwanted reality. My mission as your therapist is to partner with you in identifying and addressing your concerns head-on.
I’m passionate about helping you overcome challenges, heal from past traumas, and work through difficult emotions as you move toward the fulfilling life you envision. I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel truly heard and validated, empowering you to explore new avenues for growth and acceptance. You can expect warmth, calmness, and authenticity in our sessions. I approach our work through a psychodynamic and attachment lens, incorporating strategies from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I’m here to assist you with grief and loss, caregiving challenges, chronic and acute illness, depression, anxiety, life transitions, the impact of oppression, suicidal thoughts, complex family dynamics, and relationship hurdles.
A bit about me: I'm a career changer and previously taught computing at the college level. My passion for connecting with others—a core aspect of my teaching—led me to pursue a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to providing therapy for adults and couples, I previously had the privilege of working as an inpatient therapist as well as a hospice social worker, supporting patients with terminal diagnoses and their families. On a personal note, I’m a married mother of two incredible young adults. I love cuddly dogs, mystery and sci-fi novels, hiking, and time with my family.
